Veterinarian Saga

In the surroundings of 2008 our first Rabbit, named Lapinou, he was close to 10 years old, to develop an otitis, we say to ourselves an otitis there is nothing there and well in the rabbits, no, there is not nothing there.  

​It was an internal otitis, it starts suddenly, the head to lean side, immediately we tried to consult a veterinarian, it was during the vacations of the construction, one Friday, in short there was nobody available at the time in my city, Quebec, besides very few make small animals.

We had to make a trip to the University Veterinary Hospital (CHUV) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Saint-Hyacinthe, in the middle of the night. The person is very correct, I have nothing to say about it

During the manipulation by the veterinarian we learn the verdicts, internal otitis, we pay an exorbitant first cost, but it was for the good of our animal.

After a few days at home, the head is still on its side, we are obliged to return to Quebec city, we have to pay for the examinations, the care and other expenses afterwards, they tell us that the damage is done, the otitis seems to be healed, but our rabbit with the head on its side also broke its leg during the manipulation of the local veterinary of Quebec city. 

The vet told us that she has never saved an old rabbit from an ear infection and that it is almost impossible to cure at this age.

In short, it's euthanasia. 

Instead of telling us from the start that it was almost impossible to cure, these nice idiots made us spend a pharaonic amount of money while making our animal suffer stupidly. 

I have nothing against Saint-Hyacinthe who did their best, but the second veterinarian seeing that the situation was hopeless waited to pocket a sum of money before really caring about the fate of our animal.

This was just one of the many stories of a Scrooge-like vet. ​
