First of all, I would like to start this review by thanking all of you for the help you have given to me, my husband and our little animals.

The words of encouragement, the sharing of our stories and photos, the small kindnesses, the donations of money, all of these have allowed us to continue our work with our little animals this year.

In fact, this year 2022 has been a record year for us in terms of donations and it's because of you. And fortunately for us because we only live on my personal income, our small sales at the store and donations and inflation hit our finances very hard this year, most bags of food saw an increase of $3 to $4, vegetables like celery that I used to buy for $1 maximum at the beginning of the year went up to $3 minimum by the end of the year. In short, the donations were very much appreciated.

Our shelter took in a lot of older animals this year, I could almost say that this year was a year dedicated to giving a permanent home to animals that are at the end of their journey but still have a lot to give.

Unfortunately, this year has also seen the departure of some of our oldest animals, who have reached the end of their lives. A special thought for them at the end of this year.

We also unfortunately had our difficulties with donations, first of all we would have liked to use the Tiing site for donations but policy changes related to Desjardins and double authentication now prevent us from using this site.

We also ran into difficulties with Shopify and our online store, this time not related to Desjardins but to the Shopify payment method which again requires double authentication via cell phone which we refuse to adhere to now and in the future.

Fortunately, we found Ecwid which is much better and offers many more options for less cost. 

Unfortunately, as a store and for our donations we are still entirely dependent on Paypal, for better or worse. The year 2023 will also be the year we look for a less restrictive alternative.

We are starting soon 2023 with still a lot of needs, little boarders (guinea pig, rabbit, mouse, rat, hamster) who still offer us a lot of love.

And especially for my husband who suffers from a mental illness a beautiful occupation in addition to his Buddhism.

My year 2022 on the Canadian social network Librti has been very rewarding as a virtual meeting with interesting people and as an information quest.

My only problem, which only concerns me and not the network, is that in the middle of the year, my library seems to have blocked some of the network's features. I have lost the ability to see certain icons and other functions, I am still able to participate but it is bothering me.

I won't do an evaluation of my library here but let's just say that if it's easy to talk to the librti administrators, talking to the administrators of the Quebec City library is like the ordeal of Asterix's madhouse.

But to sum up, it's a network that respected my freedom of expression and that of the users during the pandemic and that deserves to be given a chance for 2023​

I like gab because of the dynamism of its owner Andrew Torba who is dedicated to his network and offers various alternatives.

My only criticism is that the interface still retains its Mastodon related past, a bit archaic in my opinion.

Contrary to what some people say, I have in no way been unwelcome although the number of members I have and follow is probably lower than other networks like Mewe. I have enjoyed following them this year and I think it will be the same in 2023.

The French community is also smaller in gab but the English community more than makes up for it in theme and information.

Anyway, a little subliminal message to my French and bilingual friends, come and have a look for 2023​
