Interview with a person of the alternative social networks who wishes to remain anonymous

Nancy :
Who is the inventor and the origin?

As is so often the case, there is no single inventor.

Ecological radicalism, of course, comes from the anarchist environmental movement.

Indigenous communities are certainly also models, but also historical movements in general.

The term was ultimately created to distinguish it from other current movements and above all to emphasise the non-technical, non-mechanical.

Old terms like socialism and anarchism have been used up, and the grassroots movement is also no longer entirely free in its thinking.

Therefore, organic radicalism is not a one-sided critique of all these movements, but an attempt to highlight what they have in common.

Life itself, organic life.

Whereby the organ is not a mechanical model that serves only one purpose, but organic is precisely this diversity of the differently living, which only have in common that they all interact with each other.

Nancy : What is organic radicalism according to your vision and its impact in a life without going into personal details?

In my view, technology has increasingly decoupled man from his own living needs and made him a slave to productivity and the goods produced.

Due to the work in this society, people have less and less time for the encounters with each other.

Thus many needs are no longer fulfilled. Goods and commodities step in as a substitute. Everything becomes a commodity and estranged.

Even the fun and recreation in this society can only be acquired through goods.

For the production of these goods as well as for communication among each other, man is dependent on technology, which in this way not only becomes a means of production, but even arouses desire. In order to receive this technology and with it the need satisfaction, it must be acquired. This is the driving force of man to produce goods that enable him to satisfy his needs.

I consider this to be a completely artificial way of life.
A way which not only alienates man more and more from his own needs, but which also has a negative effect on the environment and other fellow creatures.

The Organic radicalism, on the other hand, puts life in the foreground. It puts the possibilities in the foreground like humans with as small as possible expenditure the human needs satisfies and also the maximum consideration for the environment and other living beings takes.

The highest maxim of organic radicalism is therefore the careful use of natural resources.

Organic radicalism is anti-capitalist and also criticizes the previous course of civilization. However, it does not assume a natural revolutionary subject, the working class, which overcomes capitalism, but relies on its own responsibility and each individual.

On the contrary, he is convinced that the working population in this system is condemned to have the same interests as the people for whom they work and, moreover, has not seen itself as a collective power for a long time.

For this reason, it is a matter of making people aware of this dead end into which their search for salvation in technology will inevitably lead. And at the same time to show other ways.

Nancy :
Do you think it will have an impact on the planet eventually?

Regardless of possible man-made climate change, the impact of humans on nature cannot be overlooked. More and more forests are being cleared, swamps drained, rivers dammed and technical constructions placed in the environment.

Current plans want to fix existing environmental problems with even more technology and even more digitization.
All things that consume even more resources.

Ecological radicalism, on the other hand, wants to reduce the human footprint on the environment. That is, there would be more room for an environment that can develop as freely as possible.

An environment that is not subordinated to humans everywhere, but has room for its own development.

Of course, organic radicalism will also consume resources and shape the environment according to its needs in many areas, but it does not want to turn the whole planet into potential human capital, but is convinced that it, the human being, is ultimately a small part of the whole evolution that has shaped life over millions of years until today.

Therefore, organic radicalism respects all fellow human beings and also accepts its own human limitations.

The driving force is a harmonious coexistence of humans as a whole and, if possible, with all living beings and where this is not possible. Two different spaces for human needs and natural growth.

So it is not only about conservation of the environment, but also to allow non-man-made succession and evolution.

In this way, the radical organism will change the Earth in ways that cannot be accurately predicted today because life cannot be planned.
