Blokus: A Fast and Fun Strategy Game

Blokus is a delightful and fast-paced board game that I stumbled upon during the holidays, courtesy of my husband Shosin.

He first encountered it during a challenging phase in his life a few years ago, when he was surrounded by others facing similar disorders. They turned to Blokus as a means of diverting their minds from the difficulties they were experiencing.

The game itself is simple and accommodates 2 to 4 players. Its pieces resemble Tetris blocks.

For detailed rules, I recommend checking out the Wikipedia section on Blokus, but rest assured, they are straightforward. In my experience, a game typically lasts between 15 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour. The primary objective is to strategically place as many pieces as possible while thwarting your opponents from doing the same.

We purchased the game for $30 from a specialized store, and there are various versions available, including an advanced UNO-style variant that we haven't yet explored.

I highly recommend Blokus; it offers both entertainment and a welcomed escape during times like ours.
