Humor : Ego, The Drill Sergeant I Never Hired

Me and the ego — yeah, I know the guy. He wasn’t a buddy, he was my drill sergeant! Woke me up every morning, yelling at me in the mirror:"Come on, you lazy bum! Time to shine today!"
And like an idiot, I listened.

I spent years chasing my own importance, like a little dog chasing its shadow. And in the end? I was tired, pissed off, and even my shadow had had enough of me.

Then one day — boom — revelation. The ego? It’s nothing. Hot air! Just a loud-mouthed idea passing through. It’s supposed to be a tool. Like a drill: useful to make holes, sure, but if you let it run your life, you’ll end up full of holes yourself.

You know what really pisses off the ego? Realizing we’re just a bunch of cells pretending to work together… And actually, we’re a soup of particles barely held together by dumb luck. And have you seen some people? Let’s just say the "miracle" didn’t quite land.

But anyway, who cares about theory? The point is: now that you know this, you can take a deep breath and say to yourself, “Alright, got it. I’m not my ego. I can choose to be a little less stupid.”

Picture this: you're on a cruise ship with other people. You’ve got two choices:

– You can scream, “I’m the captain!” set the engine on fire, sink the ship and die shouting, “BUT I WAS RIGHT!”

– Or you can park your butt on a deck chair, grab a drink, and enjoy the ride without being a pain in everyone’s ass.

Me? I say long live the chill cruise… and may the ego stay locked in the baggage hold!

Humor: Guinea pigs against their will — thanks to whom? Thanks to the State!

Alright folks, hold on to your straitjackets, because we’re about to talk about a little government masterpiece: Project MK-Ultra.

Just the name sounds like a robot shampoo or some radioactive energy drink. But no, it was actually a secret CIA program to see how far they could make the human brain dance... without any music.

See, back in the 50s and 60s, while everyone was listening to Elvis, the State was busy testing LSD on people without asking for their consent. Nice, huh? A beautiful demonstration of democracy... chemical straitjacket edition.

They took sick people, lost souls, prisoners... basically folks already in deep trouble, and thought: "Hey, what if we used them as guinea pigs to see how they react to mental torture? And as a bonus: without telling them!" That’s the magic of the State: it treats you when you’re not sick, informs you without your knowledge, and uses you without any lubrication.

So for all the good folks who say, "No way, the government would never harm its own people," I invite you to pull your head out of the sand... or the microwave, whichever’s hotter. Go read the documents — this isn’t a conspiracy theory, it’s official history.

Sometimes, truth is crazier than the wildest conspiracy theories… except it’s got a government logo stamped on it.

My impression of Ni no kuni II on Switch

I borrowed from my library the game Ni no kuni II on Nintendo Switch. I had bought in special a few years ago the first title and had liked

I can say right away that for me this is a great game that has reinvented itself, it is a great buy on Switch or other platforms.

First of all the story is excellent, then the number of people that can be played is significant for the genre, the fights are a bit in the style of hack and slash, but not only.

Being the new king of a kingdom after a plot to kill you you also have a part of recruiting citizens and building the capital of the kingdom that also pleases.

To finish you also take part in army vs. army battles in a real time strategy style which is simple but fun.

I have absolutely nothing to say against this game, it is fascinating and will give you hours of gaming pleasure.

My impression of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

I tried Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Black Order on the Switch

It's a classic Musou-style game, essentially a Hack 'n Slash with a Marvel twist.

I enjoyed it, especially the chance to play as Spider-Man or Deadpool, and the humor is a consistent highlight throughout.

While I personally wouldn’t have bought it, borrowing it from the library allowed me to explore an engaging story and gameplay. However, it does get a bit repetitive.

If you’re not a fan of games where you repeatedly face off against hordes of mindless enemies, you might want to skip this one. But if you’re into hack and slash games, it’s definitely worth picking up on the Switch.

Ti-mine saved during a crisis of my father-in-law

Ti-Mine was my husband's father's cat.

She came into our lives after my father-in-law had his first severe seizure related to frontotemporal dementia, of course at the time we didn't know what his diagnosis was.

My father-in-law is a violent man, with a military background, having been beaten by his father himself in the past, so when the disease started to hit, he lost all control of himself and Ti-Mine, our cat now, started to take a liking to him and one night he called us in the middle of the night to tell us that if we didn't come and get her he was going to kill her because she was sticking to him too much.

He was staying away from our house so we went down in the middle of the night to get her, my father-in-law had completely devastated the apartment, they had almost thrown everything in the trash and the cat was hidden, my husband had to take care of the cat and send his father to the hospital at that time, because our health care system is one of the worst in the world in terms of mental health and dementia care, he was released the next day with the promise of medication, you will understand that after that he got even worse, but that is another story.

Since then, between 2008 and 2009, we have had the good fortune and joy of living peacefully with this wonderful cat, Ti-Mines. She has now passed away at an advanced age, but she will always remain in our hearts, our sweet little Ti-Mine.

I took some time before updating this status to 2023 because it was painful to talk about.
